Russian icons from the school of Novgorod and replicas of Andrej Rublev's beautiful sacred images made with traditional methods. Linnen on wood table, with alabaster gesso, pure 18 carat gilding and high quality pigments in egg tempera.

  Andrej Rublevc. (1360/70-1430) was probably born in the Moscow princedom, into the family of an artisan,he was pupil of the great Byzantine master Theopanes the Greek. Historians suppose that Rublev took his vows in the Troitsky (Trinity) monastery under abbot Nikon. In the middle of the 1420s Rublev and Daniil Tcherny worked on decoration of The Trinity-Sergius Lavra (abbey). The murals are ruined and only few  icons survived. The last work of Andrei Rublev is the decoration of the Our Savior Cathedral of Spas-Andronnikov monastery in Moscow,  this was  ruined as well. Andrej Rublev was respected during his life and after his death became a legend, symbol of high spiritual art. He died in 1430.
